The local language is Montenegrin and it is largely the same as that spoken in Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, with minor dialectical differences. It can be written in Latin or Cyrillic alphabets, with the former prevalent along the coast and the latter prevalent closer to the Albanian border.
There are 30 letters in the alphabet, each letter has only one sound and every letter is pronounced. As long as you know how to pronounce each letter, speaking the language is, in theory, fairly easy.
